Rkatsiteli white grapes
Description
Seen from below against a bright blue sky, two plump bunches of white grapes hang from an old vine, their round berries glowing a pale gold to amber where the sunlight passes through them. A thick, twisted trunk with rough, peeling bark runs across the bottom of the frame, and slender reddish canes rise from it toward a canopy of broad leaves turning from green to lemon yellow, a few already curling and brown at the edges. Wisps of cloud drift in the background. The backlit, late-season light gives the scene a warm, luminous clarity, the ripe fruit of Georgia's workhorse white grape at the moment of harvest.
