Strawberry juice and skim milk drink

Strawberries, or any other fruit, juiced and combined with skim milk make a healthy drink, much lighter in sugar and fat than the usual milk shakes and smoothies.

Ingredients

4 T orange juice (freshly squeezed)
2 c milk (low fat milk)

Instructions

Wash the strawberries in a colander under running water, avoid bruising, or by dipping them quickly in cold water, shaking slightly to remove sand. Remove hulls.

Juice the strawberries. With a wooden spoon, blend together strawberry juice and skim milk.

To enhance flavor, add the orange juice right before serving.

Notes

For the strawberries, the best is a juicing machine. If using a blender pass the juice through a sieve.

Substitute orange juice with lemon juice. You could also try substituting strawberries with raspberries, or some other berries.
